The Battorsea Labour Party and Trades Council gonoral management Comm ittcee, for which Gaitskell's henchman Douglas Jay sits in Parlianont and ofton rogarded as a right-wing stronghold, passod a resolution urging that Britain "sot an oxamplo by rojecting forthwith any policy basod upon nucloar woapons." The necting also voted to oppose Gaitskoll's line on the Common Market by 33 to 10. The resolution on defence will go to the Annual Conforonce.
