A statomont appoaring in l'Unita, papor of tho Italian Communist Party, on Novomber28th, containod many intorcsting foaturos. Roflocting the turmoil in the ranks of the Communist Party it says, among othor things, "that the question of tho gravo violations of socialist domocracy in the Sovict Union is vastly more com plicated than just denouncing Stalin's nogativo policios and his orrors, It is necessary to analyse ths conditions under which the first socialist socicty was established. Porhaps of greatest significance is the statomont that under present conditions, with tho widosproad development of Communism and tho vastly different conditions undor which Parties work, thero cannot be a leading party. This line, that of so-callod poly-contrism, has brought tho ItalianCommnist Party into public conflict with tho French C.P.. Tho lattor claiming that this is in contradiction to tho need for tho unity of international communism, Tho Italian C.P. has also spoken of the neod for closer relations with the Yugo-Slav Loaguo of Communists.
