Poople's artists have given wonderful porformances in rural areas, and young piconourshave onthusiastically sont wator and food to tho workors.

In the citios of Oriente Province, six thousand women took part in tho har vost of cotton and rico yostorday in commomoration of thse sixth annivorsary of the landing of tho warriors of tho boat "Granma,." ‘Vilma Sspin, President of tho Cuban Women's Federation, joinod in tho voluntocr labour. Up to the present, two million seven hundred thousand quintals of rice (one Spanish quintal cquals one hundred pounds ) havo been reaped in the Province of Orionto alone. Pormanont voluntoor yorkorg have boven_ sont by various industries and mass organisations. n Pinar Del Rio Province, already threo thousand five hundrsd permanent labourers from cities havo volunteerod to holp with the rico harvest.

Two thousand five hundred voluntoers worked on the farms of Las Villas Province yestorday. Among thom were commandor of the insurgent army of Central Cuba, Juan Almoida, and othor leaders of tho Provinco. Despite tha incossant rain, ths peasants and voluntocrs have gathored thirty thousand quintals of cotton.

Tho work of harvesting maizo and fruit, and of collecting dried foddor is also going on woll.
