Trade unionists should give these figures close attention. Consider the last column; weekly wage rates, ieee, without allowing for overtime, bonuses, etc., were worth less in March of this year than they were in March of last year. In the same period, however, production went up by 4k, of which 32% was due to higher productivity, iee., workers either working harder or being exploited more efficiently. And all this is before the Budget put 1% on the cost of living.
