It would be nice to welcome Brother George Brown to ; Nottingham as a spokesman of Britain's most progressive union. Unfortunately, he is speaking for policies which are not so easy to welcome. In particular, his present incomes Policy should be sternly rejected by every trade union worthy of the name, At the Labour Party Conference last year, West Nottinghan Party had a motion down asking for a genuinely socialist incomes policy.Unfortunately it was never diccussed, because the agenda was carefully controlled to prevent it from being reached, Here is the speech which would have been made by Leo Keely, the Nottingham fireman, if he had been called.
