(Bertrand Russell's Statenent about the Visa "debate". )

The arbitary refusal of the Labour Party Executive to permit the Emergency Resolution on visas for the Vietnamese even to cone to debate in the Labour Party Conference sums up the authoritarian and heavy~hended bigotry of this Governnent. Mr Ray Gunter, the Party bouncer, continued his role as hatchet man by cutting off the microphone so that Ken Coates case for Free Speech could not be heard at the conference. The record is a toughstone of the tawdry deceit of Harold Wilson's government. First visas are refused without explenation.Next a delegation of MPs,a Field Marshall, an Archbishop. and a Bishop is rejected by the Hone Secretary. . Then the emergency resolution placing the matter before the Party Conference is disallowed without explanation and finally the mover is silenced before his words can be heard.

In the nind of R.Gunter,Party bully,+984 precedes 1931. Fifty-one years in the Labour Party bring analogies to nind but the humbug of Macdonald and his minor men appear as a mere intimation of what Wilson and his mindless minions are doing to the Labour movenent.
